Hosting an Americorps Member

Each year KCB hosts an Americorps Member.

To increase the capacity of KCB to engage in the community, engage the public, and promote programming, an AmeriCorps Service member is hired for a 11-month period. The member supports environmental education programming for K-5 students in underserved and non-traditional schools and communities, conducts outreach to local community organizations, and implements environmental stewardship programs and initiatives for the public. It costs KCB $18,000 a year to host an AmeriCorps Service Member.
