FoKCB is an independent nonprofit dedicated to supporting beautification initiatives in Charlotte, NC. We work alongside Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) and other city partners but operate independently, with our own board overseeing financial decisions.

Donations are used to fund beautification projects aligned with our mission, such as community clean-ups, landscaping, and environmental awareness initiatives. The FoKCB Board votes on all disbursements to ensure funds are used effectively.

FoKCB accepts only unrestricted donations, meaning contributions cannot have specific conditions. This allows us to allocate resources flexibly where they are most needed for impactful beautification projects.

Yes, we are an official 501(c)(3). Donations made to FoKCB are tax-deductible. We provide a receipt for each donation, which you can use for tax purposes.

Project funding requests, particularly from KCB, are reviewed and evaluated based on their alignment with our mission and potential community impact. A formal plan and budget must accompany each request, and final decisions are made through a majority board vote.

The FoKCB Board meets quarterly to discuss and approve funding requests. However, special meetings can be convened for urgent disbursements if necessary. KCB must request funding 30 days in advance of special meetings.

While organization donations are welcomed, all funds must be unrestricted and managed according to FoKCB’s financial policies. Corporations may partner with us to support projects but cannot control how their funds are specifically used.

FoKCB shares updates on funded projects and initiatives through our website and newsletters. We also provide annual impact reports to showcase the difference donor contributions have made in the community.
